Group Rules
AppuntiPolito Team | 02/03/2022
Hello, it’s a pleasure to have you in this group! We ask you to take a few seconds to read these brief rules. You probably already have an idea of what is appropriate or inappropriate in a group like this, but we’ll explain it anyway.
This group was created as a space for discussion and exchange regarding the Politecnico di Torino. You’ll find useful materials and people willing to help, so feel free to ask for information to clarify your doubts.
Everything related to the topic described in the group’s description is considered on-topic. Regarding these subjects, polls are also allowed.
As this is a space encouraging discussion, we invite everyone to interact and respond if they know the answer to a question raised by someone else. An appropriate answer will always be appreciated!
Off-topic subjects related to personal interests (hobbies, exhibitions and museums, sports) are tolerated unless they generate excessively long discussions or are posted during a conversation or exchange of on-topic messages, as well as topics related to university life and leisure, but in moderation.
Absolutely not allowed:
- insulting and/or offending other students or future freshmen, regardless of whether they are present in the group;
- insulting and/or offending professors;
- flooding/spamming, gore, pornographic material;
- advertising and propaganda (of any kind) UNAUTHORIZED by the group admins;
- annoying and/or harassing behavior towards anyone, in any form;
- discussions on completely off-topic subjects (e.g., religious or political topics).
Those who violate these rules will face a warning and, in more serious cases, permanent expulsion from the group.
About WhatsApp groups:
We do not want to promote the use of WhatsApp groups, as a matter of principle aimed at overcoming the outdated culture of its use, summarized in the following points:
- WhatsApp allows a maximum of 1024 participants, while Telegram has a much larger limit;
- On WhatsApp, it is not possible to consult messages sent before joining, meaning materials and information must be resent each time, causing confusion: Telegram does not have this limitation;
- On WhatsApp, it is possible to see all members’ phone numbers, but not on Telegram;
- Telegram offers additional features such as management bots, polls, and pinned messages;
- Telegram is more transparent and free.
For these reasons, it is not allowed to share WhatsApp chat links in the groups governed by these rules, and the moderation bot will enforce this rule.
The staff of this group consists entirely of students from the Politecnico di Torino. To report inappropriate behavior or any particular situation, you can use the tag @admin
.
We hope that you and everyone else in this group have a pleasant experience, so we wish you a good stay! 😊
